**Peshawar, Pakistan – December 19, 2024** – Pakistani security forces have killed 11 terrorists in three separate operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on December 17th and 18th, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Seven terrorists were killed in Tank district, two in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel, and another two in Mohmand district. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the sites.

This action follows a concerning report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) indicating a 90% surge in terrorist violence and counter-terrorism fatalities during the third quarter of 2024 (July-September). The CRSS report details 722 deaths – civilians, security personnel, and militants – and 615 injuries across 328 incidents. A staggering 97% of these fatalities occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the highest percentage in a decade. Over 92% of the violent incidents also took place in these two provinces.
