**Pune, India** – Bajaj Auto has launched its highly anticipated Chetak 35 series electric scooter in India, boasting a redesigned platform and a host of new features. The series comprises three variants – the top-of-the-line 3501, the mid-range 3502, and the base model 3503 (price to be announced later).

The Chetak 35 represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor. It features a new frame, battery, motor, and controller, resulting in improved performance and a more spacious design. While retaining the classic Chetak styling, the new model incorporates sleeker turn indicators, a blacked-out headlight surround, and a slimmer LED taillight. A longer wheelbase contributes to a roomier footboard and an 80mm longer seat.

The top-spec 3501, priced at ₹1.27 lakh (ex-showroom), stands out with its touchscreen TFT display offering smartphone connectivity, music control, integrated maps, and geofencing. This feature set aims to compete directly with other feature-rich electric scooters in the market. Its 3.5kW battery boasts a claimed range of 153km on a single charge, reaching 0-80% charge in three hours using the 950W onboard quick charger. Relocating the battery to the floorboard has freed up 35 liters of boot space, addressing a major criticism of the previous model. Power comes from a new 4kW permanent magnet motor, allowing for a top speed of 73kmph.

The mid-range 3502, priced at ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom), features a 5-inch non-touchscreen TFT display, open storage instead of a closed glove box, and an off-board charger. The base model 3503 will have drum brakes at both ends and its pricing will be released separately. All models utilize a monoshock suspension at both ends, with the 3501 and 3502 featuring a front disc and rear drum brake setup.

Bajaj Auto is confident that the Chetak 35 series will capture a significant share of the growing electric scooter market in India with its enhanced features, improved performance, and increased practicality.
