Fri Dec 20 05:04:25 UTC 2024: ## Nepalese Teen Rescued from Human Trafficking Attempt at India-Nepal Border
**RUPAIDIHA, INDIA –** A 17-year-old Nepalese girl was rescued from a suspected human trafficking operation at the India-Nepal border on Wednesday night, officials announced Friday. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel intercepted the girl and a 19-year-old Nepalese man, Mahit Pariyar, on a bus at the Rupaidiha Integrated Check Post. Pariyar, also from Pyuthan district in Nepal, allegedly lured the girl to Jalandhar, Punjab, without her family’s knowledge. Following questioning by SSB, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit, and a Nepalese NGO, the pair were found to be involved in a suspected trafficking attempt. In accordance with standard operating procedure, both the girl and Pariyar were handed over to the Nepal Police and a local NGO for further investigation and action.
