**NEW DELHI, December 20, 2024** – The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) approved a ₹25.35 crore fund allocation to commence preparations for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for January/February 2025. The funds will be used to establish approximately 13,033 polling booths across 2,538 locations, ensuring essential amenities such as toilets and drinking water are available. The decision follows directives from the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi.

AAP councillors, in turn, countered with accusations against the BJP, referencing Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent parliamentary statement. Despite the protests, the proposal for election preparations was ultimately approved.
