Fri Dec 20 10:24:47 UTC 2024: ## BJP MLC C.T. Ravi Transferred to Bengaluru After Arrest for Controversial Remarks

**Belagavi, Karnataka –** BJP MLC C.T. Ravi, arrested for allegedly using abusive language against Karnataka Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, has been transferred to Bengaluru. A local court transferred the case to the Special Court of Elected Representatives in Bengaluru, prompting the police to move Ravi by road after a 12-hour journey.

Ravi, arrested on Thursday evening, claimed police subjected him to physical and mental torture, including multiple assaults and being driven around three districts throughout the night. He alleged the actions were taken under pressure from the state government, which he accused of running a “dictatorial” regime. He further stated his mobile phone was confiscated and an attempt was made to damage his smartwatch.

The court heard arguments regarding Ravi’s bail application before ordering his transfer. While the police initially suggested a two-hour air transfer, the journey ultimately took significantly longer by road. Several BJP leaders were present in court during the proceedings. The case now proceeds in Bengaluru.
