**Jagtial, Telangana, December 19, 2024** – A 48-year-old remand prisoner, K. Mallesham, died of a suspected heart attack at the Jagtial sub-jail early Thursday morning. Mallesham, a resident of Ramannapet village, was arrested by Mallial police recently under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and remanded to judicial custody. He collapsed at the sub-jail and was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. An investigation is presumed to be underway.
