The notices, reportedly issued at the behest of the Ministry of Home Affairs, follow a Congress campaign alleging that Shah insulted B.R. Ambedkar during a Rajya Sabha speech.
The controversy began after Congress shared a video clip of Shah’s speech, highlighting a section where he seemingly equates repeated invocation of Ambedkar’s name to a fashion trend. Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, accused Shah of disrespecting Ambedkar and demanded his resignation.
