**Mumbai, India – December 23, 2024** – Vedanta Limited today announced its fourth interim dividend of ₹8.5 per share for the fiscal year 2025, bringing the total interim dividend payout for the year to ₹43.5 per share. This follows previous interim dividends of ₹11, ₹4, and ₹20 per share. The record date for this dividend is December 24, 2024. Promoters, holding a 56.38% stake, will receive a total payout of ₹1,874 crore.
Despite the dividend announcement, Vedanta’s stock closed 1.1% lower at ₹513.7 on Monday, ending a two-day winning streak. However, the stock is up over 100% year-to-date, its best performance since 2021.
The company’s strong performance comes amidst significant investment. Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal recently announced a ₹1 lakh crore investment in zinc and oil production in Rajasthan, projected to create 500,000 jobs. He highlighted Hindustan Zinc’s existing ₹1 lakh crore investment and the group’s substantial annual contribution to the Indian exchequer.
Vedanta has undertaken significant financial restructuring this year, raising approximately ₹20,000 crore through various measures, including dividends from its subsidiary Hindustan Zinc, share sales, and Qualified Institutional Placements (QIPs). The company is also pursuing a demerger into six separate listed entities, aiming for completion by the end of FY25.
Analyst sentiment remains positive, with nine out of 15 analysts maintaining a “buy” recommendation on Vedanta’s stock. Equirus Securities recently initiated coverage with a “buy” rating and a price target of ₹560 for March 2026, projecting strong revenue and profit growth for the company.
