**Lucknow, December 17, 2024** – The Uttar Pradesh government today unveiled a supplementary budget of ₹17,865.72 crore for the 2024-25 fiscal year. This represents 2.42% of the original ₹7.36 lakh crore budget presented in February. Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna announced the allocation, bringing the total budget size to ₹7,66,513.36 crore.

Significant portions of the supplementary budget are earmarked for key sectors: ₹8,587.27 crore for energy, ₹2,438.63 crore for finance, ₹1,592.28 crore for family welfare, and ₹1,001 crore for animal husbandry. Further allocations include ₹805 crore for the Public Works Department, ₹505 crore for the Information Department, and ₹515 crore for primary education.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the assembly, highlighting the government’s achievements and contrasting them with the previous administration. He cited a significant drop in unemployment rates from over 19% to 2.4% and emphasized the over 160,000 recruitments in the education sector. Adityanath also criticized Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for carrying a “Palestine” bag, suggesting a disconnect from national priorities.
