**ERODE, December 17, 2024** – Two men have been arrested in connection with a gold chain robbery that occurred in Erode district earlier this month. M. Raj alias Pandi (30) and K. Prasanna alias Kumaran (41) were apprehended by Anthiyur Police on Tuesday and charged with stealing a gold chain valued at ₹1.10 lakh (approximately $13,400 USD).

The robbery took place on December 9th when P. Premalatha, while traveling on her two-wheeler, was targeted by a gang of four riding two motorcycles. The gang snatched her five-and-a-half sovereign gold chain, causing her to fall and sustain injuries. Ms. Premalatha filed a complaint with the Vellithiruppur Police Station.

Police located the suspects during a routine vehicle check at the Poonachi bus stop. After questioning, the two men confessed to their involvement in the robbery. A search is underway for the two remaining suspects. Raj and Prasanna were remanded in custody after appearing in court.
