Mon Dec 16 18:57:50 UTC 2024: ## Forest Department Busts Sandalwood Smuggling Ring in Kozhikode

**Kozhikode, December 17, 2024** – A special squad from the Kerala Forest Department launched a successful operation against sandalwood smugglers in Kozhikode district on Monday. The raid, conducted across three villages, resulted in the seizure of approximately 200 kg of smuggled sandalwood and the arrest of seven suspects.

Those arrested have been identified as M.K. Vinodan, Byju Balaraman, M.P. Bajin, P.M. Ratheesh, Vijesh Damodaran, P.K. Arumugn, and Rajaneesh. Authorities also impounded a car and a motorcycle believed to have been used in the smuggling operation. Further investigations are underway.
