NEW DELHI, December 17, 2024 – The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the recruitment of 13,735 clerks, with applications opening today. Interested candidates can apply online at https://bank.sbi/web/careers/current-openings or https://www.sbi.co.in/web/careers/current-openings until January 7, 2025.
The vacancies are distributed across various categories: 5,870 unreserved, 2,118 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 1,385 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 3,001 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 1,361 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). State-wise vacancies vary significantly, with Uttar Pradesh having the highest number (1,894) followed by Bihar (1,111) and Gujarat (1,073). Applicants must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university and be between 20 and 28 years of age as of April 1, 2024. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST and OBC candidates. The selected candidates will receive a salary in the range of ₹17,900 – ₹47,920, with a basic pay of ₹19,900.
The selection process involves a preliminary online exam in February 2025, followed by a main online exam in March/April 2025. Candidates must also pass a local language proficiency test. The preliminary exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions (English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning) and will be scored out of 100. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied for each incorrect answer.
Application fees are ₹750 for General, EWS, and OBC categories, while SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates are exempted. Candidates can apply for only one state and must possess proficiency in the local language of that state. Final year students can also apply, provided their degree is obtained by December 31, 2024. Admit cards for the preliminary exam will be released 10 days prior to the exam date.
