**Jaipur, Rajasthan –** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated 24 projects worth over ₹46,300 crore in Rajasthan, marking the one-year anniversary of the BJP state government. The projects, focusing on energy, roads, railways, and water, included the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). During a public address, Modi sharply criticized the Congress party, accusing them of deliberately delaying the ERCP and other water projects, hindering the development of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Modi highlighted the ERCP’s significance, stating that the completed Pravati, Kalisindh, and Chambal projects will provide irrigation and drinking water to 21 districts, boosting development in both states. He contrasted the BJP’s approach of inter-state cooperation with the Congress’s alleged promotion of water disputes. He recalled his own efforts to bring Narmada River water to Gujarat, citing Congress and NGO opposition as an example of their obstructionist tactics.
The Prime Minister also celebrated the BJP’s recent electoral successes, attributing them to the party’s commitment to good governance and the popularity of “double engine” BJP governments at the state and national level. He praised Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s leadership and the state government’s achievements over the past year.
