**NEWTOWN, CT** – Twelve years after the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Connecticut and the nation remember the 20 first-grade students and six educators who lost their lives on December 14, 2012. Governor Ned Lamont issued a statement urging remembrance and recommitment to love and healing, while ordering all state flags to be flown at half-staff.

President Biden also released a statement expressing grief and offering prayers to the victims’ families. He renewed his call for Congress to act on gun violence prevention in schools.
