Mon Dec 16 12:09:56 UTC 2024: ## Veteran Actor Mukesh Khanna Blames Shatrughan Sinha for Sonakshi’s Lack of Mythology Knowledge

**Mumbai, India** – Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has reignited a controversy surrounding Sonakshi Sinha’s knowledge of Indian mythology. Khanna, known for his role as Shaktimaan, criticized Sinha for her inability to answer a question about the Ramayana during a 2019 appearance on the popular game show *Kaun Banega Crorepati* (KBC).

The question, which asked for whom Hanuman fetched the Sanjeevani booti, left Sinha visibly unsure, prompting her to use a lifeline. While she eventually answered correctly (Lakshman), the incident sparked widespread criticism online.

Khanna, in a recent interview, directly blamed Sinha’s father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, for her apparent lack of cultural awareness. He stated that Sinha’s upbringing failed to instill basic knowledge of Indian mythology and traditions, highlighting the irony given Sinha’s family name and the fact that her brothers are named Luv and Kush, both characters from the Ramayana.

Khanna emphasized the importance of passing down cultural values to younger generations, referencing his iconic superhero character Shaktimaan, and expressing his belief that today’s youth need such guidance more than ever. He also lamented the distraction caused by modern technology and the perceived decline in respect for cultural heritage.

The original incident on KBC was also notable for host Amitabh Bachchan’s lighthearted but pointed remark to Sinha about her family’s connection to the Ramayana.

Khanna’s comments have once again sparked debate about the importance of cultural education and the responsibility of parents in imparting traditional values.
