**Mumbai, India (December 16, 2024)** – YouTube is set to increase the price of its Premium subscription plan globally, starting January 13, 2025. According to reports from The Verge, the basic plan will see a $10 increase, jumping from $72.99 to $82.99 per month. Users have until December 12th to subscribe at the current rate.
While this price hike affects international markets, there is currently no announcement regarding price increases for YouTube Premium in India. However, past global price adjustments have eventually impacted the Indian market.
YouTube maintains that the price increase will fund improvements to the platform and enhance user experience. Existing promotional offers and trial periods will remain in place.
In India, the current YouTube Premium pricing is ₹149 per month for individuals, ₹89 for students, ₹299 for the family plan, ₹159 for monthly prepaid, ₹459 for quarterly prepaid and ₹1490 for annual prepaid.
