**Bengaluru, [Date of Publication]** – The Karnataka Police Department will appeal the Karnataka High Court’s decision to grant bail to Kannada actor Darshan and his partner Pavithra Gowda in the Renukaswamy murder case. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand announced the appeal to the Supreme Court at a press conference on Tuesday.
Darshan, along with Gowda and 15 others, were arrested in June for the kidnapping and murder of Renukaswamy, a fan who allegedly sent obscene messages to Gowda. Darshan was released on interim bail in October after 131 days in jail and is currently hospitalized for back pain. Gowda was released on bail Tuesday.
The police have already translated the charge sheet into English, following instructions from the Home Ministry, and are preparing to file the appeal. The victim’s father, Kashinathaiah Shivanagoudar, expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would review the bail decision. While acknowledging the bail, he stated his belief in the judicial system’s ability to deliver justice.
