**New Delhi, December 17, 2024** – Delhi University has postponed law examinations following student protests on Monday at the Campus Law Centre (CLC). The exams, originally scheduled to begin on December 26th, were halted after a clash between students and police.
Students protested against the exam schedule, citing incomplete syllabus coverage, faculty changes, and delays in resource allocation. They alleged that police used force to disperse the demonstration, including lathi charges and tear gas, resulting in injuries. Delhi Police denies these allegations.
University officials confirmed the postponement, stating that a new exam schedule will be released after consultation with stakeholders. DU Proctor Rajni Abbi stated that the original datesheet has been blocked and new arrangements are underway. Attempts to reach the dean and head of law faculty, Anju Vali Tikoo, for comment were unsuccessful. The new exam dates have yet to be announced.
