**New Delhi, December 17, 2024** – Delhi’s air quality plummeted to “severe” levels on Tuesday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 421 at 7 am, according to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). Several areas, including Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Bawana, Jahangirpuri, and Alipur, recorded AQI values ranging from 400 to 470, indicating hazardous conditions. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) classified the overall air quality as “Very Poor.” Adding to the misery, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius. This marks a further deterioration in air quality for the city.
