**Bhubaneswar, December 17, 2024:** A cold wave gripped Odisha on Tuesday, with thirteen towns recording minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district emerged as the coldest place in the state, shivering at a frigid 4.7 degrees Celsius. The meteorological office reported that Rourkela followed closely with a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius, and Similiguda in Koraput district recorded 7.2 degrees. Other towns experiencing unusually low temperatures include Phulbani (7.5°C), Sundargarh (8.6°C), Keonjhar (8.9°C), and Angul, Bhawanipatna, Kirei, Chiplima, and Nabarangpur (all recording 9°C). Bhadrak’s minimum temperature was recorded at 9.5°C. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack experienced relatively milder temperatures, recording 13.6°C and 12.5°C respectively.
