Tue Dec 17 05:10:22 UTC 2024: ## Sonakshi Sinha Fires Back at Mukesh Khanna Over Ramayana Question Controversy

**Mumbai, December 17, 2024** – Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has responded sharply to veteran actor Mukesh Khanna’s criticism of her lack of knowledge about the Ramayana. Khanna, in a recent interview, blamed Sinha’s upbringing and her father, Shatrughan Sinha, for her inability to answer a Ramayana-related question on the game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC) in 2019.

Sinha, in a social media post, refuted Khanna’s claims. She pointed out that another contestant on the show also failed to answer the same question correctly. She further argued that Khanna’s criticism was unfair and hypocritical, given the forgiving nature of Lord Ram, the central figure of the epic. Sinha stated, “If Ram could forgive Mandodari, Kaikeyi, and even Ravana after a great war, then this small incident should have been easily overlooked.”

Khanna, during an interview promoting the relevance of the television series “Shaktimaan” for today’s youth, had used Sinha’s KBC incident as an example of what he sees as a lack of knowledge about Indian culture among the younger generation. He explicitly stated that the fault lay with her parents for not properly educating her on Indian traditions and scriptures.

Sinha’s KBC appearance, where she struggled to identify who Hanuman brought the Sanjeevani herb for, resulted in considerable online trolling at the time. In her response, Sinha defended herself while subtly reminding Khanna of the principles of forgiveness central to the Ramayana story itself. She concluded by asserting that her upbringing reflects the values instilled by her father, a statement implicitly challenging Khanna’s criticism.
