**Mumbai, India** – Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has publicly rebuked veteran actor Mukesh Khanna for his criticism of her upbringing following a 2019 incident on the popular game show *Kaun Banega Crorepati* (KBC).
The controversy stems from Sinha’s inability to answer a question about the Ramayana on KBC. Khanna subsequently blamed her father, Shatrughan Sinha, for her lack of knowledge, suggesting a failure in her upbringing.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Sinha addressed Khanna directly, reminding him that she wasn’t the only contestant on KBC who failed to answer the question correctly. She further criticized Khanna for singling her out and questioned his failure to practice the forgiveness advocated by Lord Rama, a character he famously portrayed.
Sinha wrote, “Mr. Mukesh Khanna, I read your recent statement blaming my father for my inability to answer a question about the Ramayana years ago. First of all, there were two women who didn’t know the answer. But you only mentioned me, for obvious reasons. Lord Rama forgave Mandodari, Kaikeyi, and even Ravana. Can’t you let this small thing go?”
While stating she doesn’t need his apology, Sinha urged Khanna to “learn to forgive and forget” and to refrain from using her and her family’s name to stay in the public eye. She concluded her post by reiterating that her upbringing instilled in her the respect to respond to his criticism in a dignified manner.
The incident occurred during Sinha’s promotion of her film *Dahaad* in 2019. The KBC question asked who Hanuman brought the Sanjeevani herb for. Khanna’s comments, made recently on another show, reignited the controversy, prompting Sinha’s sharp response.
