**London** – Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, is facing fresh accusations of jeopardizing national security after it emerged he developed a close relationship with an alleged Chinese spy. Multiple news outlets, including *The Guardian*, *BBC News*, and *The Independent*, report that a businessman identified only as “H6” cultivated an unusually high level of trust with the Prince, gaining access to senior figures within the British establishment.
Court documents cited by *The Guardian* reveal H6 was authorized to act on Prince Andrew’s behalf in an international financial initiative involving Chinese partners and investors. A letter from a senior advisor to the Prince described H6 as holding a position of significant influence within the Prince’s inner circle. The alleged spy’s phone contained correspondence inviting him to Prince Andrew’s birthday party.
While Prince Andrew’s office insists all contact with H6 ceased after concerns were raised and no sensitive information was shared, H6’s access extended to Buckingham Palace and other royal residences. Reports suggest he also met with former Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May.
H6, who had previously been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK, was ultimately expelled in 2023 after then-Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s office determined he engaged in covert activities on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department. An appeal against his expulsion was rejected by the UK’s national security court.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment, stating they no longer represent Prince Andrew, who is not a working royal. This latest scandal adds to Prince Andrew’s already controversial past, which includes scrutiny over his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and a settlement in a civil sexual assault case.
