**KARACHI, PAKISTAN** – Danish Kaneria, a highly successful former Pakistan leg-spinner, is celebrating his 44th birthday today, December 16th. Kaneria, who hails from Karachi, left a significant mark on Pakistani cricket, particularly in Test matches where he claimed over 260 wickets.

Kaneria’s career is noteworthy for being only one of two Hindu players to ever represent Pakistan’s national cricket team. He follows his maternal uncle, Anil Dalpat, who also played for Pakistan. Since Kaneria, no other Hindu cricketer has made it to the national team.
