**Mangalore, Dec 16, 2024** – The Vice-Chairman of the Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC), S.R. Niranjana, addressed concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) replacing human workers, stating that AI is a tool for improvement, not replacement. Speaking at a two-day international conference on Responsible AI at Mangalore University, Niranjana emphasized the need for students and researchers to adapt and innovate to remain competitive in the evolving job market.

The conference, which featured presentations on ethical, legal, and technological aspects of AI, also highlighted the importance of responsible AI development. Mangalore University’s Vice-Chancellor, P.L. Dharma, stressed the need for ethical practices in AI usage for societal welfare.

KSHEC is collaborating with the British Council to offer skill development programs, including opportunities for students to study in the UK through twinning programs.
