**New Delhi, [Date of Publication]** – The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced a further extension of its free online Aadhaar document update facility. The service, initially slated to end on June 14, 2024, will now remain available until June 14, 2025. This extension benefits millions of Aadhaar holders who need to update their information.

The UIDAI encourages all Aadhaar holders to ensure their information is current. This includes updating details such as address, phone number, and other relevant documents. The free update service is accessible only through the official myAadhaar portal.

Individuals can update their information online by logging in with their Aadhaar number, captcha, and OTP. They can then upload scanned copies of supporting documents for verification. A service request number will be provided to track the update’s progress.

For children enrolled before the age of five, biometric updates (fingerprints, iris scans, and photographs) are required twice – once after turning five and again after turning fifteen. These biometric updates must be done in person at an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra. Offline updates can also be completed by downloading the necessary form from the UIDAI website, submitting it with required documents at an enrolment centre, and completing biometric verification.
