Mon Dec 16 08:28:27 UTC 2024: ## Service Shouldn’t Be a Stepping Stone to Fame: RSS Leader
**Bhopal:** Suhasrao Hiremath, an All India Executive Member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), criticized the use of service for personal gain during a lecture at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal. Speaking at a program on “Service as the Basis of a Meaningful Life” organized by the Bharatiya Vichar Sansthan Nyas, Hiremath stated that selfless service shouldn’t be pursued for political advancement or personal fame. He lamented the disproportionate media coverage given to crime compared to acts of service, citing examples like the Nirbhaya case and recent rape cases in Kolkata. The two-day lecture series, which included IIT Bhopal Director Ashutosh Kumar Singh as a special guest and was presided over by retired Madhya Pradesh High Court judge Rohit Arya, continues Monday with a lecture by renowned thinker Kajal Hindustani.
