Fri Dec 13 19:22:20 UTC 2024: ## Rahul Dravid’s Son, Anvay, Scores Century in Vijay Merchant Trophy

**Bengaluru, India** – Following in his father’s illustrious footsteps, Anvay Dravid, the younger son of cricketing legend Rahul Dravid, has scored a stunning century in the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy. Playing for Karnataka against Jharkhand in Mulapadu, Andhra Pradesh, Anvay remained unbeaten on 100 runs off 153 balls, an innings studded with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

This impressive performance, which included a crucial contribution to Karnataka’s first innings lead, helped his team secure 3 valuable points despite the match ending in a draw. Anvay’s innings follows a similar feat by his older brother, Samit Dravid, who previously impressed in the Cooch Behar Trophy and earned a place in the India Under-19 team.

The emergence of Anvay Dravid continues a trend of second-generation cricketers making their mark. Arjun Tendulkar (son of Sachin Tendulkar) has already featured in the IPL, while Virender Sehwag’s sons, Aaryavir and Vedant Sehwag, have also shown considerable promise in BCCI junior tournaments. Anvay’s century adds another noteworthy name to this rising generation of cricketing talent. His all-around skills, mirroring his father’s abilities as both a batsman and wicket-keeper, suggest a bright future ahead.
