Sat Dec 14 02:22:51 UTC 2024: ## Madhya Pradesh Triumphs Over Delhi in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Semifinal

**Bengaluru, December 13:** Madhya Pradesh (MP) stormed into the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, defeating Delhi by 7 wickets in a thrilling semi-final clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium today. Rajat Patidar led the charge for MP with a stunning half-century, punctuated by a six that brought up his century. He smashed 5 sixes and 3 fours in his innings. His partnership with Harpreet Singh Bhatia (46 runs) proved crucial in chasing down Delhi’s 146-run target in just 15.4 overs.

Delhi, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, managed only 146 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Ishant Sharma took two early wickets for Delhi, dismissing both openers, Arpit Gaud and Subhranshu Senapati. However, Patidar’s explosive batting and Bhatia’s steady contribution proved too much for Delhi’s bowlers to handle. Harsha Gavli also contributed a quickfire 30.

Earlier in the day, Mumbai had secured their place in the final with a convincing 6-wicket victory over Baroda in the first semi-final. Ajinkya Rahane played a stellar knock of 98 runs, smashing 11 fours and 5 sixes, powering Mumbai to victory in 17.2 overs.

The final will be a clash between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh. The date and venue for the final will be announced shortly.
