**Kozhikode, December 14, 2024** – The 13th International Conference on Precision, Meso, Micro, and Nano Engineering (COPEN 13) commenced Friday at the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-C). The three-day event, a collaborative effort between NIT-C, IIT Palakkad, IIST Thiruvananthapuram, and NITK Surathkal, was inaugurated by Suhas S. Joshi, Director of IIT Indore.
Approximately 350 researchers and academicians from around the world are participating. The conference’s focus emphasizes the need for a blend of domain expertise and AI/machine learning skills to tackle complex manufacturing challenges. This was highlighted by several speakers at the opening ceremony, which included keynote addresses from leading experts.
The conference features technical sessions, workshops, and presentations showcasing the latest research and innovations in the field. In addition to the in-person attendees, IIST Director Dipankar Banarjee delivered a virtual address. NIT-C Director Prasad Krishna, COPEN Chairman Ravi Raghavan, Co-Chairman V. Radhakrishnan, IIT Palakkad Director Sheshadri Sekhar, and Srikanth Bontha of NITK Surathkal were also present at the inauguration.
