**Coimbatore, December 13, 2024** – A tragic car accident near Pollachi claimed the lives of a woman and her four-year-old son on Friday. Asha (41) and her daughter Anupraja (4) were killed instantly when the car, driven by a family friend, Vimalraj (35), crashed into a coconut tree on the Anaimalai-Govindapuram Road.
The family, from Anaipudur in Tiruppur district, was traveling to the Meenkulathi Bhagavathi Amman Temple in Kollengode, Kerala, with Asha’s other children, Abileswaran (15) and Aswathi (21), when the accident occurred. Police reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle near Papathi Pallam.
Abileswaran sustained a fractured left arm and is receiving treatment at Pollachi Government Hospital. The bodies of Asha and Anupraja have been sent for post-mortem. A police investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
