Fri Dec 13 07:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Telangana High Court Protects Actor Mohan Babu from Show Cause Notice in Family Dispute
**Hyderabad, December 12** – The Telangana High Court intervened Wednesday in a family dispute involving actor and Member of Parliament Mohan Babu, issuing an interim order that prevents authorities from compelling his presence in response to a show cause notice. The notice, issued under Section 126 of the Telangana Police Act (BNSS), alleged a potential breach of peace.
The dispute stems from a conflict with Babu’s younger son, who allegedly sent individuals to his father’s residence, leading to a brawl. While Babu filed a First Information Report (FIR) against his son, a subsequent show cause notice was issued to him.
Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy, however, deemed the incident a private family matter confined to Babu’s property, negating the claim of a public disturbance. The court noted that the FIR filed by Babu’s son did not name the actor as an accused. The judge also acknowledged the presence of numerous media outlets and the resulting pressure on Babu and his family, highlighting the need for protection.
The court’s interim order directs the Hyderabad Commissionerate of Police and Additional District Magistrate, Rachakonda, to refrain from forcing Babu’s appearance. Instead, the court mandated two-hourly surveillance of Babu’s residence to maintain law and order, addressing the actor’s concerns about safety and media intrusion.
While acknowledging the potential public safety implications due to the large number of individuals involved, the court ultimately ruled that the matter was primarily a family dispute and therefore dispensed with the need for Babu’s presence at the show cause notice hearing. The case has been adjourned until December 24th.
