TALLAHASSEE, FL – Former five-star recruit and son of FSU legend Marvin Jones Sr., Marvin Jones Jr., has left the Florida State Seminoles football program. The junior defensive end announced his entry into the NCAA transfer portal on December 11th, 2024.

Jones, a highly touted prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, spent two seasons at the University of Georgia before transferring to FSU this past offseason. During his single season with the Seminoles, he recorded 25 tackles (six for loss), four sacks, a forced fumble, and three quarterback hurries. Despite his individual performance, the Seminoles finished the 2024 season with a disappointing 2-10 record.

Prior to his time at Florida State, Jones played in 25 games at Georgia, contributing 16 tackles (5.5 for loss) and two sacks. He started the 2023 SEC Championship Game. His father, Marvin Jones Sr., is a Florida State and College Football Hall of Famer, a three-time All-American, and former NFL player. Jones Jr.’s next destination remains unknown.
