Fri Dec 13 00:10:00 UTC 2024: **Former Minister Avanthi Srinivas Quits YSRCP, Criticizes Jagan Mohan Reddy**

VISAKHAPATNAM, INDIA – Avanthi Srinivas, a former minister in the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), has resigned from the party, citing dissatisfaction with the leadership of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Srinivas announced his resignation at a press conference in Visakhapatnam, stating he had submitted his resignation letter to both Reddy and the party’s north Andhra coordinator, Vijayasai Reddy.

In his statement, Srinivas criticized Reddy’s governance style, alleging that the party’s grassroots workers are suffering due to centralized decision-making from Tadepalli. He also questioned the party’s recent protests, arguing they were launched too soon after the general elections, before the new government had a chance to implement its policies. He accused Reddy of not respecting the mandate given to the party, stating that the people voted for a five-year term, not a series of protests.

Srinivas’s resignation is another blow to the YSRCP, following other recent setbacks. His departure is likely to fuel speculation about further defections and internal dissent within the party.
