**Bengaluru, India** – Kannada actor Darshan Thugudeepa has been granted bail by the Karnataka High Court in connection with the murder of his fan, Renukadaswamy. The court also granted bail to all other accused, including Pavitra Gowda.

Darshan, who was arrested on June 11th in Mysuru, has been charged with the murder of the 33-year-old Renukadaswamy, whose body was found in a drain near Sumanahalli on Magadi Road in Bengaluru. Police allege that Darshan and his associates murdered Renukadaswamy after she sent obscene messages to Pavitra Gowda.

The chargesheet stated that Darshan abducted Renukadaswamy from her native place, Chitradurga, and took her to Bengaluru where she was allegedly tortured for three days before succumbing to her injuries. Her body was then disposed of in the drain, according to police.

Following his arrest, Darshan was initially held at Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru, but was later transferred to Ballari jail after photographs of him and other inmates relaxing in prison went viral. He had been granted interim bail on October 30th for spinal surgery and has been undergoing treatment at a Bengaluru hospital since then. This bail is a significant development six months after his arrest.
