**Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh –** Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy has vowed to restore the sanctity of the annual Edu Gangamma Jatara folk festival after alleging mismanagement and sacrilege by a recently formed trust. Mr. Reddy presented traditional gifts to the Edu Gangamma Moolasthanam temple on Wednesday and publicly accused the trust of misappropriating temple funds and valuable jewellery.
The MLA claims the trust, which he labelled “illegitimate,” is in possession of approximately 100 kg of silver, 400 grams of gold, and decades worth of donations. He further alleges that the trust failed to properly adorn the deity of Ponnalamma with its precious jewellery. Mr. Reddy has promised a full investigation into the trust’s activities and pledged to transfer all recovered assets to the Srikalahastheeswara Swamy Devasthanams for safekeeping. The Devasthanams will now oversee the annual festival’s organization.
