Tue Dec 10 17:10:20 UTC 2024: ## Gaza Death Toll Rises After Israeli Strikes

**GAZA CITY, December 10, 2024** – At least 25 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza on Tuesday evening, according to the Gaza civil defense agency. The strikes targeted a multi-story building belonging to the Al-Kahlut family, leaving several more people trapped under the rubble. While 16 bodies have been identified, rescue efforts hampered by a lack of resources are underway to reach those still buried. The Israeli army has not yet commented on the incident.

This latest attack comes amidst an ongoing two-month Israeli military operation in northern Gaza aimed at preventing Hamas militants from regrouping. The conflict began on October 7, 2023, following a Hamas attack on Israel that left 1,208 people dead, mostly civilians. The retaliatory Israeli offensive has resulted in at least 44,758 Palestinian deaths, primarily civilians, according to the UN-reliable Hamas-run health ministry. The ongoing violence continues to cause a devastating humanitarian crisis in the region.
