Tue Dec 10 10:42:21 UTC 2024: ## Soros, Adani, and the Indian Parliament: A Political Storm

**New Delhi, India** – The ongoing winter session of the Indian Parliament has been embroiled in controversy, with the opposition Congress party demanding a discussion on the Adani Group allegations. The ruling BJP, however, alleges that the Congress is obstructing parliamentary proceedings in collusion with “international forces,” specifically naming George Soros, the Hungarian-American billionaire investor and philanthropist.

The BJP’s accusations, repeatedly leveled over several years, claim a connection between Soros, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi. These claims have been vehemently denied by the Congress party. Congress leader Pawan Khera stated that the BJP is attempting to deflect attention from the Adani bribery allegations. The US Embassy has also dismissed the BJP’s claims, calling them “disappointing.”

Soros, known for his liberal views and substantial philanthropic contributions exceeding $32 billion to the Open Society Foundations, has been a controversial figure. While lauded for his charitable work, he’s also faced accusations of currency manipulation and attempts to influence regime change in various countries. He has also commented on the Kashmir issue, criticizing India’s actions. His recent criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Munich Security Conference, referencing the Hindenburg Research report on the Adani Group, further fueled the BJP’s accusations.

The BJP alleges a “dangerous triangle” between Soros, some US agencies, and Rahul Gandhi, aimed at destabilizing India. They claim Soros’ organizations support the idea of an independent Kashmir. However, the controversy extends beyond these allegations, highlighting the broader tensions between the BJP and Congress, with the Adani controversy serving as a major catalyst for the current parliamentary standoff.
