**NEW DELHI** – The deadline for applying for the UGC NET exam, which qualifies candidates for Assistant Professor positions in Indian colleges and universities, is today, December 11th. However, numerous aspiring candidates are reporting significant technical difficulties preventing them from submitting their applications.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for administering the twice-yearly exam (June and December), is facing widespread criticism due to these ongoing website issues. The December 2023 exam, covering 83 subjects, is scheduled for January 1st-19th. While the application deadline is today, the NTA has extended the payment deadline until 11:50 PM tonight. Applicants can also make corrections to their applications on December 12th and 13th.
Applicants can access the application portal via ugcnet.nta.ac.in or ugcnet.ntaonline.in. Despite these options, numerous complaints flood social media, detailing frustrating experiences with website errors. Candidates are demanding an extension to the application deadline due to the persistent technical problems. The NTA has yet to issue an official statement addressing these concerns.
