Mon Dec 09 18:53:10 UTC 2024: ## Supreme Court Dismisses CLAT PG 2025 Petition, Directs Petitioners to High Court
**New Delhi:** The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition challenging the conduct of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) PG 2025 exam. Petitioners Anam Khan and Ayush Agrawal alleged procedural irregularities, including discrepancies in exam timings and errors in the provisional answer key. The Court, however, refused to hear the case directly, citing precedents against acting as a court of first instance.
The petitioners, who sat for the December 1st exam, claimed unequal treatment due to variations in the distribution of question booklets at different centers. One petitioner received their booklet late, resulting in less exam time. They also contested at least 12 answers in the provisional answer key and criticized the ₹1,000 fee per objection, deeming it excessive considering the alleged errors were the Consortium’s fault. The petitioners further argued the short timeframe between the release of the answer key and the commencement of counseling hindered their ability to pursue legal remedies.
The Supreme Court bench, comprising Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar, directed the petitioners to approach the Delhi High Court. The Chief Justice also noted apparent errors in the petitioners’ challenge to the answer key. The Court rejected the request for a stay on the admission process, stating that the balance of convenience did not favor such a measure. The CLAT PG 2025 results and counseling are proceeding as scheduled.
