**Hyderabad, India** – Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has announced the upcoming introduction of a revolutionary Right of Occupancy Rights (ROR) Act aimed at resolving long-standing land disputes in the state. The new Revenue Act-2024 will be presented during the upcoming Assembly sessions, the Minister stated.
The ROR Act is designed to serve as a national model for land reform, effectively ending generational land ownership conflicts. The Minister further assured that the state government will revitalize the rural revenue system by Sankranti (a Telugu harvest festival, typically in January). He also reiterated the commitment to ensuring that Indira Awas Yojana (low-income housing) allocations are made transparently, without political interference, prioritizing the most deserving beneficiaries.
