**Mumbai, India –** A BEST bus crashed in Kurla, Mumbai on Monday night, resulting in seven deaths and 49 serious injuries. The accident occurred when the brakes of BEST bus number 332, operating from Kurla to Andheri, failed near Ambedkar Nagar.

According to police reports, the driver, Sanjay More, a recently hired contract driver (employed since December 1st), lost control of the bus after the brakes malfunctioned. Witnesses suggest he may have accidentally pressed the accelerator instead. The bus subsequently collided with several vehicles, including an auto-rickshaw and a car, before finally coming to a stop after hitting a gate.

The injured were rushed to Sion and Kurla Bhabha hospitals. The impact of the crash caused widespread damage and significant disruption. Police have filed an FIR against driver Sanjay More and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
