**New Delhi, December 10, 2024** – Former Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain has filed a defamation suit against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj. Jain alleges that Swaraj’s statements during an October 5, 2023, television interview damaged his reputation. The Rouse Avenue Court will hear the case on December 10th.

Jain claims Swaraj falsely accused him of having ₹3 crore, 1.8 kilograms of gold, and 133 gold coins seized from his residence. He asserts these allegations are baseless and politically motivated to harm his image. He further alleges that Swaraj labeled him “corrupt” and “fraud” during the interview, which reached a wide audience.

Jain’s complaint argues that Swaraj’s remarks have severely damaged his personal and professional standing, impacting his role as a public figure and his relationships with family and society. He contends the damage caused by these “frivolous allegations” is immeasurable.
