Panipat, [Date] – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the “Bima Sakhi” scheme today in Panipat, Haryana. This initiative aims to empower over 100,000 women aged 18-70 across India financially. The scheme will provide training to 10th-pass women to become LIC agents, with a monthly stipend of ₹7,000 in the first year, ₹6,000 in the second, and ₹5,000 in the third. Graduate participants will have the opportunity to work as Development Officers at LIC.
The government has allocated ₹100 crore as initial funding for the scheme, which focuses on improving financial literacy and self-reliance among women, particularly in rural areas where employment opportunities are limited. The three-year training program will also enhance financial literacy and provide a stable income. PM Modi will distribute appointment certificates to the first batch of Bima Sakhis.
