The statue depicts a dignified middle-aged woman, embodying the state’s cultural heritage and the people’s struggle for self-determination. Her serene expression and traditional adornments reflect Telangana’s history. In one hand, she holds a gesture of prosperity, while the other carries traditional crops symbolic of the state’s agriculture. The pedestal, designed as a base of clenched fists, represents the determination and sacrifices made in the fight for statehood.
The government’s notification emphasizes the statue’s significance as a symbol of the people’s self-respect and identity. Any alteration of the design, or acts of disrespect such as verbal abuse, public ridicule, destruction (including setting the statue on fire), or online defamation, will be considered a crime, the notification states.
