HYDERABAD, INDIA – Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has declared that the Congress party will remain in power in Telangana for the next 10-15 years, marking the state government’s one-year anniversary. Goud, speaking exclusively to BigTV Telugu, expressed confidence in the party’s continued dominance, citing what he described as “excellent governance” over the past year.
He claimed that the public gives the government a 4.5 out of 5 rating and predicted a Congress sweep in upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, aiming for 80 seats in local body elections. Goud also highlighted the government’s commitment to social justice, citing efforts to ensure representation in various appointments. He emphasized the creation of a statue of Telangana Mother as a symbol of the state’s struggle and accused the BRS party of attempting to claim ownership of the Bathukamma festival.
Addressing recent controversies, Goud stated that the party does not condone the comments made by Shad Nagar MLA regarding a specific social group. He clarified that the incident is being handled individually, and that the MLA has been asked to provide an explanation. Similar action will be taken to prevent future occurrences, referencing a previous incident involving Minister Konda Surekha. Goud also assured the public that the government is on track to fulfill its election promises.
