On Monday, she joined the Kerala Revenue department as a clerk, fulfilling a government promise to provide her with a job.
Shruti’s family perished in the July 30th landslides that ravaged Chooralmala and Mundakkai villages. She was engaged to Jenson, who remained a steadfast support after the tragedy, but he tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a September road accident. The couple’s engagement followed a ten-year courtship. Besides her family, Shruti also lost her home and significant personal possessions in the landslide.
