ERODE, Tamil Nadu – Tamil Nadu’s ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party is predicting a landslide victory in the 2026 Assembly elections, potentially securing all 234 seats, according to Urban Development Minister S. Muthusamy. Speaking at a party zonal meeting in Erode on Sunday, Minister Muthusamy stated the DMK is on track to win at least 200 constituencies. He interpreted criticism from opposition leader Vijayakanth as evidence of the DMK’s growing influence. Muthusamy also called for strong DMK presence outside Tamil Nadu, encouraging large participation in an upcoming event in Kerala. Downplaying comments from the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), he emphasized the continued respect between the DMK and VCK leader Thirumavalavan. Furthermore, the Minister announced Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s upcoming visit to Erode on December 19th and 20th to launch development projects and distribute welfare benefits to 50,000 people.
