**New Delhi, India –** A large fire broke out at the Jungle Jamboree restaurant in Rajouri Garden, West Delhi, on Monday afternoon, prompting a frantic escape by patrons and nearby shopkeepers. Ten fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze, which sent thick plumes of smoke billowing into the air. Videos circulating on social media show people leaping from the roof of an adjacent building to avoid the flames.

According to Delhi Fire Services chief Atul Garg, the fire department received an emergency call at 2:01 pm. Eyewitnesses reported seeing black smoke emerging from the restaurant around the same time. Shopkeeper Ghanshyam Agarwal stated that over 25 people jumped from the restaurant’s open-air seating area to a nearby building’s roof to escape the rapidly spreading fire. At least 20 people were reportedly inside the restaurant at the time of the incident.

Authorities cordoned off the area to facilitate firefighting efforts, while panic ensued among nearby businesses. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

In an unrelated incident earlier on Monday, an 18-year-old woman died in a fire at her grandparents’ residence in Nandyala district. Her 21-year-old boyfriend, Raghavendra, suffered 70% burns and claimed the fire was accidental. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
