Sun Dec 08 18:58:03 UTC 2024: ## BJP Claims Dalit Support in Tamil Nadu Ahead of 2026 Elections
**Coimbatore, December 9, 2024** – BJP State president K. Annamalai asserted on Sunday that Dalits in Tamil Nadu will support the BJP in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections. This statement comes in response to VCK founder Thol. Thirumavalavan’s claim that Dalits across India, except in Tamil Nadu, are backing the BJP. Annamalai attributed the difference to the VCK’s influence.
Annamalai also criticized VCK’s involvement in a book release event attended by Milind Baburao Teltumbde, whom he identified as a CPI (Maoist) Central Committee member. He questioned the need for a naxal-linked individual’s participation and accused the DMK of orchestrating a plan to split opposition votes. Further fueling the controversy, Annamalai alleged DMK received significant electoral bonds and accused the party of “monarchy rule.”
He challenged VCK leader Thirumavalavan to take responsibility for Arjuna’s actions at the event, citing Arjuna’s alleged close ties to the DMK through family connections involving substantial electoral bond donations. Annamalai also defended his criticism of Minister Senthibalaji, stating that healthy politics should prevail in Tamil Nadu. He reiterated his willingness to accompany TVK president Vijay to Manipur to showcase the BJP’s positive impact on the region.
